I am currently in a phase where I have decided that the smaller the handbag, the more I love it.

Are mini bags practical? Rarely. Do they fit everything I actually need? Definitely not. Do I still find myself drawn to them every time I see one? Absolutely.

There is just something about a tiny handbag that makes an outfit look instantly more considered. And when I came across IRTH by Titan’s miniature handbag collection, I knew I had to put a few of them to the test.

I tried four pieces across different styles, colours and materials, from a knitted beige bag that quickly became my favourite to a tiny leather handbag that could easily work as a statement accessory.

Here’s what I thought of each.

Hands down, my favourite of the four.

Everything about this bag worked for me: the colour, the knitted texture, the size and the overall finish. The beige is neutral enough to pair with almost anything, but the texture keeps it from looking basic.

What particularly caught my eye was the cane-inspired look of the beige knit, contrasted with the black border. It gives the otherwise minimalist bag a little more definition and makes it look considerably more expensive than its tiny proportions might suggest.

It is also the kind of accessory that can make a fairly simple outfit look more styled. Think jeans and a shirt, a summer dress or even an all-black outfit where the bag becomes the textural element.

Would I carry it when I actually have somewhere to put my phone, wallet, makeup and approximately 17 other things I consider essential? Probably not.

Would I carry it anyway because it is ridiculously cute? Yes.

For me, this was the clear winner.

How I’d style this bag

I’d keep the rest of the outfit fairly simple and let the texture of the bag do the work. Straight-leg blue jeans, a fitted white or black top and kitten heels would make an easy daytime look, while a simple midi dress would give it a more feminine feel. I’d also wear it with an all-black outfit if I wanted the bag to break up the look without introducing a loud colour.

Technically, this one isn’t a handbag, but if your tote or larger bag is anything like mine, you will understand why I had to include it.

I have a habit of putting every tiny thing into my handbag and then spending an unreasonable amount of time looking for the one thing I actually need. Lipstick? Somewhere at the bottom. Earphones? Probably hiding inside a receipt. Hand sanitiser? Gone missing despite being approximately four inches away.

This is where a small bag organiser can actually make a difference.

The denim-blue colour gives it a cute, casual feel, while its compact size makes it easy to slip inside a larger handbag or tote. Instead of throwing all your smaller essentials into one giant compartment, you can keep them together and move the organiser from one bag to another.

At ₹695, it is also the most affordable piece I tried.

This isn’t the most fashion-forward item in the collection, but for anyone who constantly loses their belongings inside a large bag, it is probably the most practical.

How I’d use this bag organiser

I’d keep it inside a large work tote with all the things I don’t want floating around in the main compartment: makeup, chargers, earphones, keys and smaller personal essentials. The denim blue would also work nicely with a neutral canvas or leather tote.

I have a confession: yellow isn’t usually my colour.

So I was initially sceptical about this one. But once I actually saw the bag, the colour started making more sense.

The miniature size makes the bright yellow feel less overwhelming, while the leather finish adds a polished touch. It is tiny, but that’s precisely what gives it its charm.

I wouldn’t necessarily pick this over a neutral bag for everyday wear, but I can see it working brilliantly as a statement accessory. If you’re wearing a relatively simple outfit in black, white, denim or beige, this little pop of yellow can add the colour the look needs.

The size is also adorable; although, once again, practicality isn’t exactly the point here.

If you enjoy experimenting with accessories or want a handbag that does the styling for you, this is the one I’d consider.

How I’d style this bag

I’d use the yellow as the one bright element in an otherwise neutral outfit. Think white shirt with blue jeans, a black midi dress or beige trousers with a simple top. I’d keep the jewellery fairly minimal and let the bag provide the colour.

Now this is much more my speed.

The off-white colour immediately makes this bag feel versatile. It is neutral, clean and classy, while the miniature silhouette keeps it from looking too conventional.

I particularly like off-white bags because they can work with almost any colour palette. Whether you’re wearing pastels, denim, black, brown or a bright summer outfit, this is unlikely to clash.

The leather texture gives it a more polished appearance, while its tiny proportions make it feel playful rather than overly formal.

If you’re someone who wants the mini-bag trend but doesn’t necessarily want to commit to a bold colour, this would be my pick.

How I’d style this bag

I’d pair it with pastel separates, denim or a printed summer dress for daytime. For a more polished look, it would work well with tailored trousers, a fitted shirt and kitten heels. I also think it would look particularly good with an Indian outfit in a soft or neutral palette, where the off-white bag adds a contemporary touch without competing with the clothes.

What I liked about this little selection from IRTH by Titan is that it demonstrates just how much personality a small accessory can add to an outfit. The bags may not hold your entire life, and honestly, that’s probably their biggest flaw, but they can make even a basic look feel more intentional.

And right now, I’m willing to sacrifice a little practicality for that.

Because when it comes to mini handbags, the smaller the bag, the bigger the love.
