Spider-Man: No Way Home box office collection week 3: Film sees a big drop on third Monday; could fall short of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ record | English Movie News

Spider-Man: No Way Home‘ saw its first big drop in collections on its third Monday at the Indian box office.

The film that smashed past the Rs 200 crore mark over the New Year weekend, earned around Rs 1.25 crore nett on its third Monday, thus taking its overall total to an estimated Rs 204 crore nett.

Monday’s numbers were a drop from the collections it pulled in over the weekend. The film earned Rs 3 crore on Friday, Rs 5 crore and Saturday and Rs 4.75 crore on Sunday.

According to reports on boxofficeindia.com, ‘No Way Home’ is looking at a Rs 17.50 crore nett collection for its third week at the box office. Although low, the numbers are very good as the film is coming to the end of its run at the ticket windows.

It is reported that the film will hang around in cinemas while they are still open. Owing to the current uncertainty arising due to the pandemic, several Bollywood and Hollywood films have taken the call to postpone their January releases to a later date.

‘No Way Home’ is expected to round off its collections at an extimed Rs 215-220 crore nett. This could fall a bit short of the ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ collections that was estimated at around Rs 227 crore nett.

In a chat with ETimes, Vivek Krishnani, Managing Director at Sony Pictures Entertainment Films India revealed that the film will head the OTT way after it has had its full run at the box office. He said, “Sony has a deal with Netflix globally. It will definitely be available there, but after it follows the windows that any US film follows. It will follow that timeline and will certainly not release within a month. For now, the older films like Tom Holland‘s ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ and even Andrew Garfield‘s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ franchise have been trending on the platform as people want to go back and watch the previous films and enjoy the experience all over again.”
