RRR’s Interval scene shooting costed Rs 75 lakh per day, reveals filmmaker SS Rajamouli | Hindi Movie News

SS Rajamouli’s RRR starring Ram Charan, Junior NTR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn has currently been the talk of the town due to its ensemble cast and intriguing storyline. While the makers have planned to postpone the release due to the rising covid cases, it still continues to create a hype and promises a cinematic experience.

Speaking of the creative process and budgeting of the film, the filmmaker recently revealed to a news portal about a specific scene which has cost them around Rs. 75 lakh per day to create it. Reportedly, it is the interval sequence in the movie which was shot for 65 days, costing 75 lakh per day. This probably made the movie within the budget of Rs. 400 crore.

Rajamouli told The Quint, that he is the happiest when he gets to write the screenplay. “When I write the screenplay, that is the time when I am the happiest. Because there is no restriction, there is nothing. It is just your thought, it keeps flowing.”

He also added that he gets immense joy in being a narrator. “I am also happy when I am narrating the story because I am pretty sure I can impress my actors with my narration skills. I am a good storyteller, so I am very happy at the at that time”

When asked about what tenses or worries him the most while shooting, he says it’s the money. “When we have these big units and if something goes wrong, every minute costs lakhs of money. If things are not flowing smoothly when we are shooting a big sequence. Like, for example, we were shooting the interval sequence [in RRR] for 65 nights and there were hundreds of actors who were flown from different countries to play their part. And each night of shooting cost Rs 75 lakh.”

Elaborating further he said if something is not happening on the clock he gets really tense, angry and upset. “I blew my top off during those times other than that I’m pretty much calm and composed.”
