‘Pushpa’ (Hindi) had a phenomenal New Year’s day as it saw a jump of about 80 percent in box office collections. The film earned Rs 6 crore on its second Saturday and it’s total collection now stands at Rs 56 crore. The film had the benefit of New Years day as even the mass circuits went crazy.

According to boxofficeindia.com, the collections from north circuit were also impressive. The film is geting a good response in UP as the Delhi/UP circuit collected almost Rs 1 crore even though the cinemas of Delhi city are shut. The collections in Gujarat/Saurashtra too are phenomenal in a way that no other South film has seen so far.

‘Pushpa’ is originally a Telugu-language action drama, which has been released in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi languages. Starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in the lead, this entertainer is written and directed by Sukumar. The film released on December 17 and a section of the audience had taken objection to a particular romantic scene in the movie. The sequence in question featured the lead actor touching his love interest’s chest in a public place. The ‘van scene’ or ‘tiffin scene’ received flak from Allu Arjun‘s fans and following the uproar, the makers decided to delete the controversial sequence.

‘Pushpa’ is very close to attaining a blockbuster status as long as cinemas remain open for the next 7-10 days.
